7 Problems With The Violent Protests In Ferguson
I don’t have a problem with the protests going on in Ferguson concerning the killing of black men by white Police officers. But I do have a problem with those Ferguson protesters that perpetuate stupid violence in the name of seeking for justice. They loot the businesses of innocent people, houses, etc., and yet they call it justice. It’s no justice because even the people that “perpetuated” the supposed crime walk free.
Here’s why I don’t support the violent protests in Ferguson:
1). It is childish
A child would refuse to eat your food because you scolded him or her. However, you do not get to feel the hunger in the child’s stomach. It’s the child that feels the hunger. Over the years, the child would realize that going on a hunger strike is not the best option to air his or her views.
Protesters in Ferguson burnt houses, shops, etc., in the name of seeking for justice. They even looted properties, beat people and more all in the name of seeking for justice.
You destroy businesses owned by blacks. You destroy businesses that employ blacks. You destroy buildings, etc that help in the development of your area. Who would be hurt after all? You.
I find it childish destroying the property you get to enjoy as a way to air your views.
2). People would lose their jobs
I guarantee you that people would lose their jobs. To put it straightforward, black people would lose their jobs.
Most employers wouldn’t see it safe to employ a person that loots and destroys properties of innocent citizens in the name of protests. Because the protests have been characterized with violence, some employers may sack their employees that participated (who may not have been part of those doing the destruction and looting of properties).
Some people were made jobless after some the destruction of shops, and businesses.
3). It makes every protester in Ferguson look stupid
I mean why destroy and loot properties, businesses that you get to use? Why destroy a coffee shop you usually order coffee from every morning? If the coffee shop goes, not only would it affect the owner of the business, and the employers, but it’d affect you too–the customer.
4). It would lead to white rage
White rage already exists in America. The violent protests that occurred in Ferguson would just make it worst.
5). It’d stirs hatred even among the black race
I saw the picture of a black girl crying because where she works was burned to the ground by protesters. You think she’d ever support protests like this even when need be? I doubt that. She’d likely hate the black folks that burned down her shop and destroyed her business with passion.
6). Less people would join next time
When most people see that protests in Ferguson is mostly characterized with violence, and police reprisals. They would hesitate to join next time.
7). It may not cause much change after all
This is just a possibility considering the factors listed above.
